Parking for the Spirit of Chicago

Important Traffic Information

We look forward to having you onboard for your cruise! Please allow appropriate travel time for your cruise. For the weekend of Saturday, May 19th – Monday, May 21st we are expecting some traffic delays because of the NATO summit that will be taking place at McCormick Place.

Road closures and pedestrian restriction will be implemented beginning at Saturday AM – Monday PM. The affected roadways will open for rush hour on Monday Evening. Please visit the NATO Website for more information about specific street closures and traffic restrictions.

The Spirit of Chicago departs from Navy Pier. You’ll find easy-to-follow directions below, and plenty of parking waiting your arrival. Read our FAQ section for more information

 

Parking
Ample parking is available at Navy Pier. Alternative parking is available at 460 E. Illinois and 403 E. Grand (one block from Navy Pier). Free Navy Pier Trolley Service runs continuously from parking lot to Navy Pier along Illinois & Grand.

Directions
From the South:

  • Take the Dan Ryan Expressway West to Lake Shore Dr. North
  • Exit Grand Ave./Illinois St. to Navy Pier

From the Southwest:

  • Take Interstate 55 North (Stevenson) to Lake Shore Dr. North
  • Exit Grand Ave./Illinois St. to Navy Pier

From the Far Southwest:

  • Follow Interstate 57 North to the Dan Ryan Expressway West
  • Go to Lake Shore Dr. North Exit Grand Ave./Illinois St. to Navy Pier

From the Southeast:

  • Take 90/94 West (Dan Ryan Expressway) to Lake Shore Dr. North
  • Exit Grand Ave./Illinois St. to Navy Pier

From the North:

  • Take 90/94 East (Kennedy) to Ohio St. Exit
  • Turn right on Fairbanks/Columbus Dr.
  • Turn left on Illinois St. to Navy Pier

From the Northeast:

  • Take Lake Shore Dr. South to the Grand Ave./Illinois St. exit
  • Turn left on Illinois St. to Navy Pier
